HOPE

Holy Land Outreach Promoting Education

Holy Land Outreach Promoting Education provides HOPE in many ways.  Tracing its beginning to a 2003 encounter between two sesquicentennial parishes, one in Milford, Ohio and the other in Beit Jala, Palestine, HOPE has grown to be a source of educational opportunities to schools, teachers and students of both the Archdiocese of Cincinnati and the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem.

In cooperation with the Schools of the Latin Patriarchate, HOPE has introduced innovative educational programs and has fostered the ongoing twinning partnerships which pair teachers from two worlds.

Since 2010, well over one hundred teachers have traveled both to the Holy Land and to Cincinnati.  They have shared teaching techniques, classrooms, hospitality and cross cultural appreciation and understanding.  HOPE’s ongoing goal is to build bridges of love, peace and friendship through education.

Although the COVID pandemic and its associated difficulties in the Holy Land paused HOPE’s trans-Atlantic activities, the internet has permitted our teachers to continue their dialogue.

HOPE has used this time to reexamine its programs and to explore the possibilities of cooperation with additional educational institutions in the Holy Land.

Currently, HOPE has begun the process to send a group of teachers and supporters to the Holy Land in 2023.
