Father Chris Geiger  was born in Louisville, KY. His family moved to the Cincinnati area when he was 3.  He attended St. Susanna grade school, Mason High School, and the University of Cincinnati.  He taught high school math for one year at Sycamore High School before entering the seminary.  He was ordained to the priesthood on May 21, 2016, and it was by far the happiest day of his life!  He is the oldest of seven; he  has 4 sisters and 2 brothers.  He also has 2 nephews and 2 nieces.  He is  a HUGE Reds fan, and he loves the Bengals too… but his greatest passion is Jesus Christ and sharing His love and His truth.

This will be Father Chris’ second trip to the Holy Land.  His first trip was while he was in the seminary.  The whole pilgrimage was very moving, but the thing that he remembers the most is that after he returned home he realized that  the pilgrimage had completely changed his prayer life.  It especially changed how he prayed the rosary.  It was incredible for him to have a “visual” to go with all of the mysteries of the rosary, and it was amazing for him  to be able to visualize the different scenes read about in the Bible.

The one site that moved Father Chris the most was the site of the Annunciation.  It was overwhelming for him to be in the very place where the Word became Flesh, where Mary gave her Fiat, where God became man.  He was also moved by the fact that, after the Angel had announced the Incarnation to Mary and Mary consented to this, the Angel left and Mary was then alone with Jesus in her womb. He couldn’t believe that he got to be in the very place that Mary had the first ever intimate moment alone with Jesus Christ in the flesh.

When Father Chris returned home from his trip to the Holy Land, one of his first thoughts was that he wanted to return one day as a priest so that he could celebrate Mass at these incredibly holy sites.  He is  overjoyed and humbled that this opportunity has come so quickly.

Father is also looking forward to spending the time with our pilgrims, and hearing about their experiences with their twinning teachers as well as their experiences of the Holy Land.  He feels incredibly honored to get to share this important trip with such wonderful people! The pilgrims feel just as honored to have Fr Chris as their shepherd!
