Welcome Saad Rahhal, who is the principal of the Latin Patriarchate High School in Jaffa-Nazareth and also the financial manager of the LP Schools in Israel. This will be Saad’s first time in the USA!

Saad feels privileged to have this opportunity to exchange educational experiences with other educators. He is hoping to learn about the Catholic education system of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati and bring new ideas back to further improve the LP School system. He is also interested in learning about the finance system of the AOC.

According to Saad,  schools in Israel now follow a specific course of study which has replaced the traditional ways of teaching. This new and innovative way is called Meaningful Learning.  Students are considered as essential partners in the process of learning rather than passive ones. Involving the students and making them active participants in the learning process keeps them interested and assures deeper and much more effective learning compared to the traditional methods. The constant and fundamental changes in technology, along with the accessibility of information, forced the change on them. The role of the teacher has changed, he is not in the center anymore since he is no longer the primary source of information.

Saad hopes that through this experience in Cincinnati  he will learn new teaching methods to share with his staff, so that they can benefit and improve the teaching and learning experiences in their  school.Regarding the financial aspect, Saad is also interested in learning about the fixed assets management system of the AOC, as well as the department of personnel administration for the benefit of the LPS.

Saad will be quite busy while he is here!

Welcome, Saad!
